Division One

Kindergarten

Our school began as a kindergarten in 2003, and it remains the heart of AES. Blind, low-vision and sighted children aged 3–6 learn together through play, songs, stories and movement — building readiness, confidence and real friendships.

  • Play-based, inclusive early childhood education.
  • Early vision screening and support from day one.
  • A safe, natural environment for every child.

Division Two

Elementary School

Beginning with first grade in 2005, our elementary school teaches braille, adapted literacy and numeracy alongside the national curriculum — so blind and low-vision students never fall behind their sighted peers.

  • Braille and adapted textbooks for low-vision readers.
  • Focused literacy and numeracy support.
  • Creative classroom activities, sports and music.

Division Three

Middle & Secondary

As students grow, so does their independence. Our older students travel, perform and study with confidence — and with the same integration and support that has been with them since the very first year.

  • Preparation for life beyond school.
  • Confidence, mobility and independent learning skills.
  • A growing community of alumni who know inclusion.

Vision Support Program

Early childhood & preschool tools

Adapted toys, textures and pre-braille activities for the youngest children.

Braille & literacy

Braille instruction, adapted textbooks and print-to-touch transitions.

Sport & movement

Adapted sports and daily activity building coordination and confidence.

Digital skills

Screen readers, accessible technology and hands-on learning with modern tools.
